TrustID move to Cloud using ABBYY

ABBYY, a leading global provider of technologies and solutions to action information, announced that TrustID has chosen ABBYY OCR technology to power its TrustID Cloud service. Private and public-sector customers can use this service to validate ID documents presented to them and easily detect possible fraudulent actions.

“A visual inspection of identity documents often leads to inconsistencies in the level of checking. This may mean that suspicious documents are more likely to be missed, resulting in an organisation not being compliant with legal requirements,” said David Park, Commercial Director of TrustID. “The fast and robust checks of TrustID Cloud quickly solve this challenge and ABBYY is the perfect match in this process. The excellent quality of ABBYY OCR software means that the data is extracted from identity documents with the highest accuracy. Therefore, the demand for human interaction is greatly reduced. This allows us to control our processing costs while maintaining excellent service and high levels of compliance and security.”

TrustID shortlisted for Public Finance Award

PF awards_finalist-1.png

We were delighted to be shortlisted for a Public Finance Innovation Award 2017 for our identity checking project in partnership with Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Kings College NHS Foundation Trust approached TrustID as they were increasingly concerned about the increased level and sophistication of identification fraud. And they felt it an unreasonable risk to rely on a recruitment administrator to bear the burden of identifying fraudulent documentation.

Terry Smith, Counter Fraud & Corruption Manager at Kings College Hospital Trust explained: "The use of the technology created a consistent approach across all areas of recruitment. It removed the need for continually training staff on the types of false documents and also reduced the amount of time a new employee spent with the HR team which, in turn, improved the efficiency of the team. The introduction of the technology in to our routine recruitment process resulted in an immediate decline in the number of applicants presenting false documents... The use of the Trust ID technology has significantly reduced the risk of illegal working at the Trust."

TrustID helps NHS Recruitment agency to pass audit and find fake documents

The recruitment team at Firstcall Healthcare can now quickly and confidently check the validity of key identity documents, such as passports, visas, international ID cards and driving licences thanks to the TrustID Desktop scanning solution. The scanning software helps Firstcall to demonstrate that their candidates are thoroughly and reliably checked to comply with Right to Work legislation.

As a growing healthcare agency, they recently tendered to become part of the NHS Collaborative Procurement Partnership (NHS CPP) National Clinical Staffing Framework which stipulates that agencies must validate ID documents using an ‘automated solution’, confident that they had the right technology in place.

Since implementing the TrustID scanner, Firstcall have come across several fraudulent documents and have been able to prevent the recruitment of illegal workers.
